For NH State Rep

Greenland • North Hampton • Rye

I’m excited to announce that I have officially filed to run for a third term as your New Hampshire State Representative for Rockingham District 38, representing Greenland, North Hampton, and Rye.

I’m looking forward to meeting with voters across our district, hearing your ideas and concerns, and earning your support. I’ll be knocking on doors beginning later this summer, and I hope to see you soon. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I always welcome hearing from my constituents. Vote November 3rd to send me back to Concord. Together, we can continue building stronger schools, stonger communities, and a brighter future for Greenland, North Hampton, and Rye!

Meet Peggy

Peggy Balboni has proudly represented Rockingham District 38—Greenland, North Hampton, and Rye—in the New Hampshire House of Representatives since 2022. She serves on the House Education Policy and Administration Committee, where she works on legislation that shapes the governance, organization, and operation of New Hampshire’s public schools and local school districts. She also serves on two statutory committees: the Legislative Oversight Committee for the Education Improvement and Assessment Program and the Education Freedom Savings Account Oversight Committee.

A lifelong advocate for education and public service, Peggy grew up in Vermont, where both of her parents were public school teachers. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgetown University and a Master of Arts in Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Peggy and her husband, Jeff, have called Rye home since 1994. Together they raised four children, all of whom attended Rye’s public schools. Before being elected to the State House, Peggy dedicated decades to serving her community. She served nine years on the Rye School Board and twelve years on the Rye Budget Committee, while also volunteering with numerous municipal, educational, and community organizations.

  • Peggy Balboni is the leader District 38 needs in Concord. She is committed to protecting and strengthening our public schools, respecting local control, and trusting the judgment of the school boards and communities that know their students best. Peggy opposes efforts to impose mandatory open enrollment, limit local decision-making through school budget tax caps, and redirect public education funding away from neighborhood schools. I wholeheartedly support Peggy because she will stand up for our students, taxpayers, and communities. - Matt Curtin, Rye School Board, Chair
  • I support Peggy Balboni, New Hampshire State Representative for Rockingham District 38, representing Greenland, North Hampton, and Rye for a third term. Her voting record and position on House the Education Administration and Policy Committee clearly shows how she supports local control of our public-school system and that public tax dollars should sufficiently fund public education programs open to all students. - Scott Hughes, Greenland
  • As a new resident of Rye, knowing almost no one, I called Peggy to ask for her help with a new legislative bill. Peggy came to my house right away, spent time with me, listened to my story, and enthusiastically endorsed and co-sponsored the Honor and Remember Flag bill proposal. Peggy is one of the kindest, most attentive, and smartest representatives of the people I have ever known! I marvel at how this woman works hour after hour, day after day, and month after month on the Education Committee. Dedication is her middle name. She shows up, works, and never gives up! - Nancy Marston, Rye resident and Gold Star Mother
  • Representative Balboni has been very supportive of Rye's efforts to create local energy generation which provides significant savings and reduces carbon emissions for the town. When the Energy Committee had an opportunity to apply for two grants with relatively quick deadlines, Peggy was very responsive in her support. She asks great questions and is a great advocate for Rye! - Lisa Sweet, Rye Energy Committee, Co-Chair
  • As a retired public school teacher, I strongly support the availability of a quality public education for all children. By continuing to divert our taxpayer dollars in support of the voucher system, the current majority in the legislature is undermining our local schools. Thankfully we have had Peggy Balboni representing us and serving on the House Education Administration and Policy Committee. Let’s reelect her for a third term to keep a watchful eye on legislation and to continue her fight for locally controlled schools. Peggy is present at events in our communities and is accessible to her constituents. - Katie Wentworth, Greenland
